What kind of options???

Well, let's suppose you import an Excel spreadsheet containing accented characters (such à â é Ô etc.).  If you got many accented characters in a variable name, such as HÉTÉROGÉNÉITÉ and you prefer not to activate VALIDVARNAME=ANY (which can be very misleading and dangerous), you currently  end-up with a variable name such as H_T_ROG_N_IT_

This variable name is useless, compared to HERETOGENEITE (the french equivalent for HETEROGENIETY).  So, being able to convert accented characters to non-accented letters in variables names would be something very useful for french speaking users, but also for other latin languages having accents (spanish, some eastern european languages, etc.).
