I'm unable to create an idea in the SAS University Edition area of the Communities, so I'm posting here which is as close as I can get. I've been using SAS University Edition for some time now and absolutely love it. I've noticed a couple of tasks that I do routinely that would make life a lot easier, and am hoping others agree.
1) Data Transformation - I'm working with a huge number of CSVs right now and for some reason, the Salaries column on some of the CSVs is importing as Text, others as Numeric. I've tried PUT and INPUT and nothing's worked; having a Data Task that enables me to do these transformations using point and click would save me time and my sanity :-)
2) Data Imputation - Having the ability to learn about data imputing would fill a gap I both see in many "analysts" but also struggled with myself; I'm comfortable with it now, but still spend a lot of time occasionally trying to figure out a new missing variable.
3) PROCs not available greyed out - One of my biggest frustrations with UE is not knowing what PROCs I do and don't have access to, as they are all in the list; I spent many hours installing, configuring, and testing Hadoop only to find out that PROC HADOOP doesn't work in SAS UE. I love the fact I can go in and read the documentation through the interface, but knowing at a glance which PROCs I can use would make it a lot less frustrating.
Thanks - let me know if you need more information.
