We very commonly use macro variables to automate import, export, and other SAS code in PC-SAS. In EG, there are circumstances in which it is easier to use Tasks, rather than code ... or would be if the functionality existed to pass prompt/macro variable values into the Task. For example, you cannot (as far as we have been able to determine) pass a list of filenames in macro variables into the upload task. Instead, the file list must be manually edited each time it is changed.
