Having used SAS studio for a short while, a few gaps are already showing re. data management:
- We can't see catalogs!!
- The table properties information is too terse, we also need at least sortedby, compression, indexes information. Hopefully also OS, SAS version and encoding. Sine there is an extended attribute tab why not put *all* available metadata there?
- When looking at data, we need to enter commands
where, where undo, where also, can be worked around with the filter interface though a recall list would be a major improvement.
show (to pick displayed columns and order) is a must, the check boxes just don't cut it for repetitive selections and/or long lists
bot/top (to navigate to the end/top of the table) are often used
=n (to navigate to a specific row by number as in FSVIEW) is really missed
=[VAR=val] (to navigate to a specific row by value without subsetting) would be a huge bonus
- Don't make the table fill the screen's width, it's very difficult to read narrow (one or two columns) tables on wide screens
- l like that we can finally copy and paste data from a data set to a spreadsheet
That's all for now.
Attached a screen shot showing a bug with the column headers' horizontal alignment
