A form view would also be most useful.

Thank you so much for the detailed suggestions - it's so much easier to work with specifics.   A couple of these we have already in the pipeline and a few I have more questions on...

Catalogs - Have you played around with the catalog snippets?  It's not opening a window, but you can run code snippets to list out catalogs and catalog entries.  Does that cut it?  What else do you want to be able to do with catalogs?  It would also help to know what type of catalog entries are important.

Table Viewer - We did focus on the point & click stuff first.  Working on more "command line" functionality in several areas.  For the commands you want to do - are you thinking just a general command box thing where you're basically given no help - just need to know what to type in?  Or are you thinking of something more in context with more assistance?

The table width / column width / column alignment issues have been fixed in development and should show up in our next release.

Form viewer - Are you thinking something along the lines of FSEDIT and, if so, are you looking to be able to edit?  Trying to understand the use case.

Thanks again!  Please keep them coming!

Thanks for following up, @AmyP_sas! Hi @ChrisNZ, as Amy mentions above, some your ideas (e.g. the abilities to modify data and expanded interface functionality) are on their way to fruition...look for them in a future release.  Your other suggestions are under consideration. We appreciate you!

=> I haven't. I could also call proc catalog , but why should I have to jump through these hoops? The explorer is supposed to do just this.

Main entry types for me are plain text entries and formats, which we should be able to open and browse.

Listing entries such as grseg and macro is useful too as these sometimes need to be managed.

Table Viewer - We did focus on the point & click stuff first.  Working on more "command line" functionality in several areas.  For the commands you want to do - are you thinking just a general command box thing where you're basically given no help - just need to know what to type in?  Or are you thinking of something more in context with more assistance?

=> Just type the command, which allows for copy and paste. A recall list of the latest commands is useful too. Typing help could bring up a dialog explaining the few accepted commands.

Form viewer - Are you thinking something along the lines of FSEDIT and, if so, are you looking to be able to edit?  Trying to understand the use case.

=> Yes, FSEDIT, or Viewtable's "Form View" button. Edit capability (to change the value of a field, or to sort a table) is useful too, but not as often.

=> Another major feature is the ability to display several tables next to each other for comparison.

Thank you Beverly and Amy for your encouragements!  Smiley Happy
