I would like to nominate something to be on the SAS ballot.  I want SAS to print out the effect size for any t-test or ANOVA and anything else they want.  I know that it is possible to calculate or program this ourselves, but a lot of people who publish in the applied fields are not up to doing this.  If SAS were to print it, then more people who publish in the applied fields would be more likely include this when they report statistics (nothing is guaranteed, but I think this would help a lot).  Both the American Statistical Association and the American Psychological Association have recommended this practice instead of only reporting P values which get misinterpreted as effect sizes which they most definitely are not.  If SAS were to do this, then it would move the reporting of statistical results forward.

There is an effect size statement in Proc GLM that isn't too difficult to use.

Yes, the EFFECTSIZE statement in PROC GLM is wonderful. Now we need it in PROC ANOVA and PROC TTEST.
Thanks.

PROC ANOVA has added an EFFECTSIZE option in SAS/STAT 15.1.

This is great that it is now in PROC ANOVA.  I am hoping that it will improve the statistical reporting in the applied fields.  Thank you to SAS.

Effect size is in Proc GLM and might also be in other procedures.  I don't tend to use Proc Anova too much.  I wish it would be available in Proc Glimmix, Proc Genmod, and Proc Logistic as well.
