I'm trying to figure out what our users (customers) were searching for when they got an "unfound search term" result on our website.
I have a list of provider names, but have noticed that there are more than a few unsuccessful searches where the member is using an acronym of the provider's name (examples above).
I'm doing fuzzy matching of the unfound search terms against a large table of provider names and other types of data. Both of these datasets are quite large, and I would not be able to do the acronym matching by hand, so I'm going to use proc sql to join all possible combinations, and will use the score from COMPGED to find the best match.
For now I'm going to code this myself, but it sure would be great to have a function like that for the future.
Thanks so much for letting us make suggestions to improve SAS!!
