Most Windows applications initialize the SaveAs dialog window to the current directory of the open document.

For example, note the SaveAs functionality in MS Word and Textpad.  The SaveAs window begins in the current directory for whatever document is being edited.

Can EG be changed to do the same thing, instead of starting in some random directory?

Agree 100%!  I can't tell you how many times I've gone in to find a program that doesn't have my most recent changes.  I ended up realizing that it didn't save the program to the directory that contained the original, but instead saved it to some other recent directory that I had used on another project.

This was something that regular SAS did with no problem, so it would be great to have this funcitonality in SAS EG too!

I checked out the link that sandykota just posted, but it basically says that it isn't a current functionality.  So I hope that this new ballot idea will help SAS understand how important this issue is to people.

Thanks @sandykota.  When I completed my subject line for the post, I did review the suggestions the forum software listed as similar topics.  For some reason that link didn't show up.

This will be fixed in the next EG 7.13 update (HF6, aka. A3V006).  Thanks for your feedback!
