Can you please define what 'stored procedures' is? Does it mean the same thing as macro?

I wish for the same feature in the SAS macro setting, so that a SAS macro can act like a function.

Currently, there is a method (http://www.lexjansen.com/phuse/2006/cs/cs06.pdf) that works but frankly quite awkward.  It would be nice to have a dedicated statement to return values from macro to the caller.
