Could you use the output data set?

proc report nowd data=sashelp.shoes out=test;
   columns region product stores;
   define region / group;

define product / group;

run;

we miss this too every day.

our users outputs reports to excel all the time and asks for repeated values.

output dataset is useless when you have a acrossvariable.

columns is named _cxx_

Thanks for the support @Torben_Pedersen. I think a lot of other users would find this useful too.

Since our users regularly asks for this option, especially in connection with the transfer of data from SAS to Microsoft Excel, I have just coded some very complex macros to address this problem, but it would be much simpler if it could be done by an option to Proc Report.

The complexity of the macro occurs because you have to take into account the hierarchies inherent in data, so you can not just indiscriminately can transfer values to the current observation from the previous one.
