Hi,

We’re from one of the Foreign Bank in Southeast Asia. We have actually purchased SAS product for Data Warehouse and Customer Analytics Solution (Segmentation and Cross Sell Model). Now, we have embarked to Customer Analytics project, and we’ve few questions as below:

1) Understand that the mart is design for a monthly load instead of daily load. What are the reasons, the mart is being design this way?

2) Will this N-1 month data (N is current month) caused wrongly targeted customer for marketing campaigns? Example: We’ve wrongly targeted to those customer who is no longer with the bank at current month. How can we address this issue?

3) For modeling purposes, do we look the data as at position (30Apr2010) or on monthly basis (1Apr2010-30Apr2010)? And why?

We’re much looking forward for your prompt response. Thank you.

Hi:
The Clinical Trials forum is generally for Clinical Trial (drug approval and testing) programming. Usually, the types of programmers who post here work for either Pharmaceutical companies or for consulting companies who do clinical trial data management and reporting as part of the Food and Drug Administration approval process for new drugs.

Since you work for a bank and are NOT involved in Clinical Trial submissions, it is unlikely that the programmers in this forum use the Customer Analytics Solution. So, it is doubtful that you will get many responses to your query.

You may want to take this question off-line by opening a track with Tech Support about these architecture and usage questions. In addition, this paper
http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi29/180-29.pdf discusses the Banking implementation of this solution. In particular, the end of the paper has some references that might help answer your questions.

Also, this site has many white papers relevant to your product suite:

Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for your reply. And we're very sorry that we've posted this at a different section in this forum. By the way, may i know, if there's any appropriate thread for Customer Analytics Solution, for me to post this queries without liaising the Technical Support?

Many Thanks.

Hi:
The thing is that the solutions, as a group, end up being fairly specific to each company in their implementation. So different customers will all have the basic Platform, but their data models and their reporting and their implemented analytics, and even their installed components on top of the Platform might be different. So, that's why there's no specific forum for Customer Analytics Solution.

In order to get answers to your questions, it is entirely appropriate to open a track with Tech Support and reference this thread. If the first level of Technical Support help doesn't have the specific answers, they can enlist more senior people to answer your questions.
