Re: End point variables in Clinical trails

It varies by trial, but is the outcome measure in the specific aims of the protocol.

In a thrombolytic trial, it might be death; in a diabetes trial, it might be a reduction in HbA1c, etc.

For further examples of endpoints, just go to http://clinicaltrials.gov/ and look up some phama sponsored trials.

Re: End point variables in Clinical trails

Primary endpoint definition:
“clinical endpoint that provides evidence sufficient to fully categorize clinically the effect of a treatment that would support a regulatory claim for the treatment”
Secondary endpoint:
“additional clinical characterization of a treatment but could not, by itself, be convincing of a clinically significant treatment effect”
