I have the following questions related to setting properties in WRS 4.2:

1. If properties are set via the use of the LocalProperties.xml, is it still possible to set properties in SMC via the Advanced tab (Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► Web Report Studio 4.2.)?

2. Is there a paper, table or reference work that lists the all of the available properties that can be set by an administrator and values and/or range of values that these properties can be assigned?

3. Specifically, what property can be used to increase the default number of rows used in a WRS table from 40 to 54?

Many Thanks,

James

Hi, James:

1. In 4.2, most properties should be set using the Configuration Manager if for no other reason than it is an easier method. There are a couple of exceptions that must still be set via the LocalProperties (for example, this is one http://support.sas.com/kb/12/424.html). There is no need to set properties in both places.

2. There is no paper that lists all available properties. This topic lists some: http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/biwaag/63536/HTML/default/viewer.htm#a002938529.htm .

3. See http://support.sas.com/kb/12/961.html

With regards to item one, what happens if you have defined a property both in SMC and the properties xml file but with different default values? Basically, do the properties set via SMC take precedence over those found in the xml file or is the opposite true?

With regards to item three, it is disappointing to hear that these properties are not listed and defined in a support document. Does anyone know if there are any plans to update to documentation to include this going forward?

Hello, James:

If the same property is set in both the configuration manager and in the localproperties.xml file, then the value set in the localproperties.xml file "wins."
