Tagging Servers Used by the SAS Viya (Pay-As-You-Go) Service

I need to add our company's required tags to all associated resources, such as Kubernetes and the storage account that was created and used by SAS Viya. However, I'm encountering a permission error when trying to add them. Is there a way to resolve this issue?

That's a great question! The way that the deployment works means that you won't have the required permissions to update your deployment with the tags you need.

I do think that others will want this functionality too and I will add it to our backlog to make this something that's possible for future releases.

The necessary permissions to tag your resources, including Kubernetes and storage accounts used by SAS Viya, are now available. Additionally, these resources will inherit tags that are automatically assigned during deployment. You can proceed with your deployment and add the required tags.

Hi Conor,

It seems your solution works only after deployment.  The deployment form doesn't currently provide an option to add our tags or policies to the SAS Viya services. I was wondering if there's a way to define these before deploying the service?

I understand the problem now. We are looking into how to add tags in the deployment template. I have asked the development team to prioritize this request and will update you again when I have an updated version to share.
