Happy June, everyone!

You maybe wondering: where did the SAS Viya Release Highlights webcast go for June?  Unfortunately both of our hosts, Thiago and Kate, are sick and need time to rest and recover. We’ll be back next month, on July 19th at noon ET, to cover the content you would have seen in June! You won’t miss a thing!

Next month, you'll hear all about the technology behind the Batting Lab, an experiential look at how analytics can help improve your baseball swing! Until then, feel free to check out some resources to learn all about the technology we'll show you in July.

I may be known for being a terrible athlete (maybe I should have made my way over to the Batting Lab), but I did attend my first-ever MLB game last weekend to get in the Batting Lab spirit! Let me know in the comments if you know the name of this field:

Let's get into the details of the show!

SAS Data Scientist Jared Dean will walk us through the Batting Lab! Designed to combine baseball and softball with SAS’ vast data experience, the Batting Lab was created for kids to improve their understanding of data by improving their performance at bat. You'll learn about how artificial intelligence and machine learning help players improve their form. If you want to learn more about the Batting Lab, check out this great article from @joeFurbee!

Then, we’ll show you what’s new in SAS Econometrics, which is used to help kids improve their swing in the Batting Lab! You'll hear from SAS Developer @gunce_sas to learn about SAS Econometrics and walk through examples of how it's used, including how to use SAS Econometrics and open source together. If you just can't wait until July, join the conversation early – check out the SAS Forecasting and Econometrics Community!
