Hi,

I am creating a custom category from a category data item as I would like to do different groups.

Actul_column

AAA

BBB

CCC

DDD

EEE

FFF

Cutom_cat_colum

group1 : AAA

              BBB

              CCC

group2 :AAA

             EEE

Group3: DDD

              FFF

Group4:AAA

             BBB

             CCC

             DDD

             EEE

             FFF

The problem is once I select the value into one group and then i have option to select the same value into another group.

what is the alternative solution ?

Hi @vallsas,

what do you want to do with the groups?

Maybe it's feasible to have one calculated item per group?

Best

Markus

This is actual group of records and need to calculate the records and their percentage as per the business requirement.

I gave sample data which is same pattern of real data.

as adding more info

Grouping each dept and all the dept group count and their performance percentage i would like to calculate.

if i use button bar in a report

I can see group1 group2 group3 group4 so i get the count by each and finally all the group count on the same button bar based on the selection different charts show the statistics further on the same report.

let me know still need more explanation.

thanks

So lets see, if I have understood it.

In the terms of your first example:

You want to have group 1 to group 4 and total as choices on the button bar.

If group 1 is choosen, you want a calculation on AAA, BBB and CCC,

if group 4 is choosen you want a calculation on AAA, BBB, CCC, DDD, EEE and FFF.

Right?

Yes, you are right!

I recommend buidling a calcuated item for each group, which holds either the group member or a "missing".

If you uploaded an extract of your data, maybe I could give you a more specific example.

Hi @vallsas,

originally I understood, that you wanted to have AAA, BBB, CCC all in Groupq and Group 1 on the button bar.

Is this still true?
