Is it possible to amend the formatting of the stacked container buttons so that it is very obvious which element within the container is being viewed. Default is that the open element is shown as a light grey colour in the buttons, and the other button fonts are a dark grey which provides just a small differentiation and isn't very clear.  Is it possible to change the font to bold, or the actual colour so it stands out?

I can't see an obvious way to do that but you could change the Navigation Button Type (located on the Properties tab) to Links.  The unselected options are underlined which may make it easier to tell which one you have selected.
