Possible to add Office URI Link in report?

We are attempting to provide users with a URI link which will open an Office application and file (reference).

For example the following will download 'document.xlsx'

file://server/share/document.xlsx

However, we would would like to open it with the appropriate application by using

ms-excel:ofe|u|//server/share/document.xlsx
