Library Connected to SQL Database via ODBC: SQL Database being upgraded: Necessary Steps to Refresh?

A data library is connected to a MS SQL database via ODBC. The Database is undergoing a version upgrade. What steps need to be taken, if any, after the update? Does table data require metadata update? How is this best accomplished? New to this! Thank you.

If you are on Windows, usually nothing. Just make sure that your ODBC driver is up to date.
Of course, any changes in host/database/schema names must be managed manually.
