Best Practices for Data Loading

Hi All,

On the anvil of starting our first project on VA,  Hence would like to understand if there is any  Best practices available via documentation / Whitepaper ,

Primarily centric on the form of data to load whether we should load a Detailed Table or a Star Schema,

Also how VA reports can be surfaced via a third party Portal available for public access

Any help would be highly valuable

Cheers

Re: Best Practices for Data Loading

Hello,

Here are some best practice resources that might be helpful to you:

Whitepapers:

“Access, Modify, Enhance: Self-Service Data Management in SAS Visual Analytics”

http://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings15/SAS1877-2015.pdf

“Tips and Techniques for Efficiently Updating and Loading Data into SAS Visual Analytics”

http://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings15/SAS1905-2015.pdf

“Big Data Everywhere! Easily Loading and Managing Your Data in the SAS LASR Analytic Server” (this one is a little older, but it includes information on star schemas)

http://support.sas.com/resources/papers/proceedings14/SAS347-2014.pdf

Documentation:

Information on creating LASR star schemas (see the last section “Performance Considerations"):

http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68027/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p1rm0wbdjpum7yn1xez0d...

Information on creating data queries (see the last section “Best Practices for Adding Data Sources"):

http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/vaug/68027/HTML/default/viewer.htm#p1rstp592p91evn1jo4n1...

Do these cover what you were looking for?

Best regards,

Lorrie
