Auto save

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is a auto-save function in SAS VA 7.1? This could be nice when working on a report og exploring, and suddently if someone interupts and you forget to save, the work is gone.

Best Regards

I agree! In fact I raised an autosave feature request via SAS Technical Support in August 2013.

Will it be in a future release?

On a side note... @annabrown_sas, I recall in the Jive SAS Support Communities there was a feature request facility - a way for people to raise feature requests they would like and other members to vote on it. Is there a similar kind of facility in this Lithium environment?

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one seeing this as a nice-to-have feature, despite that I've tried to search for a similar topic.

Re: Auto save

Michelle, you can submit feature requests here:

It would be nice if this were easier to find.

Thanks @Sam_SAS This page is similar to other pages where you have a question and replies, I was thinking of a way to raise an idea (a light bulb icon) and be able to vote on it, which was available with the previous Jive platform. It would be good to have it in each community.

Yes, hopefully Anna can pass that on to the communities admins.

Re: Auto save

Hi daha,  and Sam_SAS,

Thanks for the suggestion! Indeed, we need to surface the Ideas section of the community more prominentlly on each community page. Currently there is a right side box on the home page with a light bulb that links to Ideas (see "Share an idea"). But that is not enough. Stay tuned for improvements here...

Re: Auto save

for now you can increase the VA timeout, so that your unsaved report wont go away quickly.

@Explore_SAS, how is that done, could you please guide me through it ?

Re: Auto save

Its not something which can do it from VA, but that has to be modified on the server side.

I would still like to know where, as I have access to the server-side as well.

Re: Auto save

Hi TejaSurapaneni,

Thanks for your answer. But the given list of files that I can modify doesn't make the issue easier to solve Smiley Happy

And I'm not familiar with step 3 and 4. Is this supposed to be done by our SAS consultant?

Hi,

Your Admin. can do this...

But.. it's better to approach SAS Techinal Team.

Thanks  & Regards,
