Registering and Requesting Support

Have you registered your users group for 2016? If not, don't forget to complete the registration form by March 31.

You're registered - so what now? It's time to spread the word about your group. Here are some ideas to get you started.

  • Your users group website
    • A website gives you the opportunity to define and promote your group. This could include your group's officers, future meeting dates and topics.
    • IHUGS should consider setting up an internal site so only members within the organization can access the information.
  • Email
    • Regular communications set the tone for the group and help members feel included even when they can't attend meetings.
    • Be sure to obtain members' permission to communicate by email and make it easy for them to update their contact information. Don't forget to include an unsubscribe or opt out of emails option.
  • Social media
    • Forming a group on LinkedIn or Facebook and establishing a blog or Twitter feed are great ways to let your members know of activities, forge connections and attract new members.
    • Don't get to join the SAS Users Group LinkedIn group as well! It's a great place to receive and post announcements.

And to help promote your group, SAS will post your users group in our online listing of users groups.
