Is there a facility like the DISCONNECT facility in IntrNet

I need to be able a run a stored a stored process and have the option to run it in the background. I can't use _action=background as I need to have my stored process examine the parameters before determining to run the code in the background. I also need to save settings the user has specified on Portal pages (before they change them for their next request). If the values are such that the request will take a long time to run (something I can determine just by looking at the specified parameters), I need to run the request in the background. Basically I need a facility exactly like what appsrvset('disconnect') does. According to the online doc for stpsrvset, there is no disconnect option.

I know I could implement something like this by saving the parameters to a data store somewhere and then having a SAS daemon run requests in turn. But I don't want to reinvent the wheel if there is a comparable facility in the 9.2 stored process facility.
