Hi,

There is SAS Usage Note 18923 "File upload support with Stored Processes"
(http://support.sas.com/kb/18/923.html) which says:

"In SAS 9.1.3, there is not a feature that allows a SAS Stored Process to
upload a local, client-side file for processing on the server. Support
for this feature will not be available for Stored Processes until SAS
9.2."

Have anyone tried this new feature of SAS Stored Process server presumably available with SAS 9.2?
Or is there any documentation on how exactly it works and how it can be implemented in a Web application?

Thanks,
Roman

Hi,

More than 1 week passed, but there are no answers to my question - it's a pity... 😞

Could someone please explain to me at least whether the statement "Support for this feature will not be available for Stored Processes until SAS 9.2." means that this support will be available in SAS 9.2 at all?

(the mentioned SAS Note was published more than a year ago, and there are no other documents except this usage note describing "File upload support with Stored Processes" feature)

Roman

Hi,
I haven't had a chance to work with the 9.2 Enterprise Intelligence platform yet. The only folks who may know the answer to your question would be those in Tech Support or R&D.

If you are time-constrained for an answer or a workaround to a problem, you might consider contacting Tech Support for help. You could always use other FTP methods (outside of SAS) to upload your file to a server and then use that server copy of the file in a SAS stored process.

Roman,

File upload is supported within the 9.2 environment and the process is actually easy. Here is a link that should help you out. The examples work well, the biggest challenge is determining how to use a file once you have uploaded it.
