What exactly does the APPLY button do on the prompt page? It appears that everything works the same whether I "apply" or not.  Is there a way to exclude the apply button next to the parameters?

Of the top of my head - It may have something to do with dependent prompts, when you press apply it populates the next dependent prompt with the applicable values.

Thank you Barry. I'm still not sure what APPLY does, but I found out that Management Console 9.3 does not default to include that on the prompt page, whereas 9.2 does default to that APPLY button.
