Proc Power: Determining what lift will I need to achieve in order to reach statistical significance

Hi all,

I have selected test and control populations for a one year (12 month) marketing promo test. I have 3 buckets of customers and need to determine which I will hold frozen for the entire year.

Options:

Option

Test Size

Control Size

Total 0-12M Groups

145,194

150,461

6 months

91,548

97,074

1 Quarter

56,687

58,014

I need to be able to determine what lift will I need to achieve in order to reach significance at 90% for the 6 month, 0-12 buckets and 1 quarter buckets.

I was hoping to select either a quarter or 6 months so that by the end of the testing period it would still be pretty representative of targeted group.

My primary success KPI is sales -  the historical benchmark is $162/customer, so I am looking for an answer like:

I would need a 5% increase in sales - $170  - to reach 90% signifigance.

I need to use SAS//Stat – I would assume I would use proc power.

If anyone code give me a code sample which would calculate this, that would be really great! Thanks!
