Generally to estimate the rate of digestion in fish, the experimental group of fish (i.e. 16 fish) are fed with single meal (give feed only one time) of a known amount (g) and then at different time interval their stomach content are recovered till the first empty stomach observed. Now the obtained data are analysis to find the best fit model for it (recovered stomach are plotted at y-axis against time (x-axis).

But we have fed our fish two times rather than only a single time (first were fed at morning 06:00 am and second after 12 hrs) and afterward the stomach contents were recovered with 3 hrs interval. Now the stomach has two meals i.e. some remaining portion of first meal+second meal. Now the challenge is that how to find the rate of each meal separately using the rate parameter (g h-1) of single meal experiments.

Rate parameter obtained from single meal (fed only one time group) is 0.0791 g h-1 wherase the rate paramter obtained from multiple meal experments (from conbined data, considering the remaining portion of first and second meal as St) is 0.0659.

What is ANOVA?

ANOVA, or Analysis Of Variance, is used to compare the averages or means of two or more populations to better understand how they differ. Watch this tutorial for more.
