I have sampled different states during different seaons (fall, spring, summer) and tested samples for  three different categories (virus 1, virus 2, virus 3). How do I account for different sample size in different seasons and states? I would like to test the effect of season and state on the virus counts, using logistic regressision. How do I account for the negative samples? The null hypothesis to test is that all three viruses occur equally in all states and seasons.

Data structure is as follows:

State Season Virus count

1            1       1        13

1            1       2        104

1            1       3         87

1            2       1         22

1            2       2         2

1            2       3         7

and so on

Thank you for your help.
