Analyzing Effect of Appointment Wait Time on No-Show Rate

We have been tasked to see if there is a correlation between appointment wait time and no-show rate. And I have no idea how to analyze it. We want to analyze it system wide as well as by clinic. Would it be as simple as to d a chi-square test on weekly no-show rates? We are also thinking of doing a logistic regression to see what demographic variables might be important. I've found a couple studies on-line but if anyone has some ideas/resources it would be greatly appreciated

Re: Analyzing Effect of Appointment Wait Time on No-Show Rate

1. Graph it first, for overall, then visualize it by colouring by clinic

2. Your question is generic, how your data is formatted and available is key

3. Once you've graphed it, you can look at ANOVA rather than Chi Square and use proportion of No show against appointment wait time. If you have other variables, such as number of docs, time of year, number of patients you can can build a regression type model.
