importing password protect excel file into sas, how?

You may have success using the FILENAME and DDE engine, as is mentioned in the SUGI technical paper below; this document makes mention that the DDE "open function" accepts parameters, one that would be a password. The specific format is unfamiliar to me, and I could find no reference at the SAS support website http://support.sas.com/ .

You may want to open a SAS support track for this inquiry, if you cannot determine the correct approach on your own.
