How do I get 'foobar' to appear on the log when invoking the match method in the PROC DS2 package?

proc ds2;
	package regexp / overwrite=yes;
		method match( char pattern, char string ) returns integer;
			put 'foobar';
			return prxmatch(pattern, string);
		end;
	run;
quit;

PROC FEDSQL;
	DROP TABLE example FORCE;
	CREATE TABLE example (
		is_valid INTEGER
	);
	INSERT INTO example VALUES (regexp.match('/[0-9]+/', '123'));
QUIT;
