how to indentify a name without space or name only in 1 word.

I already use find " " or not contains " " but it didn't worked

I would try:

 

if name > ' ' and length(name) = length(compress(name));

you can also prxmatch and \s (this means space).

input word & $20.;

wiseman
young man
unwise man

data want;
set have;
if prxmatch('/\s/', trim(word)) then flag = 'Y';
else flag = 'N';
