why sas proc allele procedure calculating PIC value >0.5 for bi-allelic markers

Hi to all sas programmers,

I am using sas genetics proc allele procedure to calculate PIC (polymorphic information content) value. I knew theorotical value of PIC should not be greater than 0.5 but i am getting greater than 0.5 PIC value. can any one explained me why sas caluculating PIC values greater than 0.5? sharing of any information regarding this will be highly appreciated.
