hi,

I have a question about the PROC FORMAT...

1)if i have not mentioned any 'lib' in the proc format ..procedure ...where does it saves ?/ (work or sascatalog)


PROC FORMAT;
VALUE name range-1 = 'formatted-text-1'
                         range-2 = 'formatted-text-2'

                           range-n = 'formatted-text-n';

2)The fromats like system generated  'timeampm. '..............which location will all these saved ?

please note  that i am not asking for how to search for FOMATS(fmlib,fmsearch.........)

Any links providing.......also helps me ...

Hi,

According to:

Base SAS(R) 9.3 Procedures Guide, Second Edition

"If you omit the LIBRARY= option, then formats and informats are stored in the WORK.FORMATS catalog."

I am not sure how (if at all) one can access predefined SAS formats.
