Does anyone know how sas can read (and allow) the accent that is typically used in French names.  eg. Montreal the e has an accent on top of the letter.  Right now SAS converts it to a ? so Monreal comes up as Montr?al .. Thanks

I suggest you research National Language Support (NLS) on the SAS Support site. When you install SAS you have the option of installing NLS for many languages, then when you run SAS you have the option of setting the context for the language(s) required.
