is there a way to create a shortcut so that when I open SAS it will default to a folder of my choice rather than the 9.2 subdirectory on my C drive?

what other information do you want?  When  I click File > Open I want another folder to appear....not the 9.2 subdirectory

I believe that is precisely what sasinitialfolder accomplishes
