I am using a SAS dataset which has a date variable with:

Format: MMDDYY10.

Informat: YYMMDD8.

I need to select cases between 2 particular dates. I have tried reformatting the dates, using the GE LE functions with 'yymmdd'D and a lot of other techniques. But nothing seems to work. Please help.

All date literals are in the form ddMonYY or ddMonYYYY. '13JUN2014'D for example. The format of the variable has nothing to do with selecting values.

Hello,

I will also add that there is no date variable in SAS. You have either numeric (which can be formatted as dates) or character variables.
