Hi Friends,
I have recieved a Data today which has 55 Variables of which most of them in English but certain Key variables are in Chinese. One such value of the Variable is posted below.
What I have done?
Deleted all columns other than English. Imported Data Successfully into SAS.
What I need?
Is there a way to import the entire Data (Probably a SAS code / SAS Macro) that can convert these to English and Vice Versa as desired.
Eg: 沃尔玛(中国)投资有限公司
Which in English Means:
Wal-Mart (China) Investment Co., Ltd.
This is another Column Data
Eg: Q: [agent name]: liyang [报修人]:王云富先生 电话:0578-5082067 其他电话: [产品]:X544 SN:94F2DZV [故障现象]:打印出来会有空白,脱机测试页也是如此 A: [错误代码]:无 [推荐方案]: 请帮忙维修 [ALSC]: JH-HUAYUWEICHENG
Which in English means :
Q: [agent name]: liyang [Repair man]: Mr. Wang Yunfu Tel :0578 -5,082,067 Other Phone: [product]: X544 SN: 94F2DZV [symptoms]: print out will be blank, off-line test page is also true A: [error code]: no [recommended options]: Please help repair [ALSC]: JH-HUAYUWEICHENG
Looking forward for your assistance.
Thanks,
Raghuraman Ramesh
WOW. I am surprised that I can see these Chinese Words. It is amazing.
For your question, Maybe you can copy these chinese words out and use Google On-Line Translate Tool , then input them back in SAS.
Ksharp
Yup! Thats what I thought initially when I saw the first few observations in the Sample File (Which I thought was the Actual). I have now recieved the actual file with 2.3 Million Observations ??????
I may have to sit a whole month just translating this....
Thanks,
Raghuraman Ramesh
Hi.
I do not know SAS has such a translate tool . If SAS has ,that will be perfect.
Or Contact SAS Technology Support to see whether they has a better way ?
Good Luck.

You could automate using the google translate restful services. However, you will need to license this functionality, of course. Here is a link to the pricing, it is quite reasonable, in my opinion.
