Following is the code I tried

modify clustera.basedata;
rename Score__R=Score_R;

That code as is isn't valid. Is it wrapped in a proc datasets? i.e.
proc datasets library=clustera;
modify clustera.basedata;
rename score__r=score_r;
run;quit;
