I don't want sas to convert "fraction" to "time"

I try to import an excel dataset containing fractions such as 1/2, 1/4, 1/6 to sas. However, sas automatically convert fraction to time (e.g. 1/2 --> 0:01:02). How can I tell sas not to convert my data? Thank you.

One way is to use Enterprise Guide to do the import. It gives you the option to change the informat.

Another way is to force that column to be text in excel. Or have excel do the calculation to turn it into a decimal value and then have SAS to return it to a fraction upon display.
