How to import a 2003 excel file with password into SAS

Hello everyone,

I have a problem to import an excel 2003(.xls) file with password  into SAS.

Suppose the file's full location and name is c:\temp\aaa.xls,,,, password is "abc"  ,,,,, and sheet's name is "sheet1".

Does anyone could tell me how to write SAS code to import this file?

I attached the excel file .password is "abc".

Thanks!

Mike

PROC IMPORT
OUT= need
DATAFILE= "c:\temp\aaa.xls"
DBMS=EXCEL REPLACE;

SHEET="sheet1$";

GETNAMES=YES;
MIXED=YES;
USEDATE=YES;
SCANTIME=YES;
SCANTEXT=YES;
password='abc';/*This part does  not work*/
RUN;

The issue is that SAS does not have a PASSWORD= option, so you need to use one of the work around methods mentioned in the thread linked by haikuo bian above.  Read the thread and the papers that are linked in that thread.

If you still have detailed questions then ask them.
