How to Import an Excel File to SAS University Edition

I am using Proc import to read excel file. It has more than 300 columns. But it reads only 255 columns. Does anybody know whether there is any option to read more columns? I am using SAS 9.2 version. Following is my sample code: PROC IMPORT OUT= want DATAFILE= "c\have.xlsx" DBMS=excel REPLACE; RUN;

Re: How to Import an Excel File to SAS University Edition

Are you using SAS UE as your title indicates, or SAS 9.2?

Try DBMS=XLSX if SAS UE.

The 255 limit is from Excel ACE engine, not a SAS limitation so you may need to convert file to CSV to import it correctly.

Re: How to Import an Excel File to SAS University Edition

If you're using SAS 9.2 then you're not using SAS University Edition.  SAS 9.2 did not support the native XLSX format, so you'll probably need to convert your Excel file into a CSV in order for SAS to read the entire thing.
