Clearing junk data during proc import?

Good evening!

I'm running a proc import on an xlsx file, and noticed that in column C, there are some values that are characters instead of numbers. As this column is supposed to be solely numbers and not characters, is there any way to run something similar to a missover or dsd when performing a proc import to ignore the characters and cause the proc import to recognize column C as numeric instead of character input? 

Using SAS Studio if it makes any difference.

There is no way to intervene in the IMPORT procedure process to correct junk data.

You have two choices:

• Clean up the junk before you import
• Post-process column C to convert it back to a numeric column. Using the INPUT function will be helpful here. Here's some code you can try.
