Repeated Measures Example

Hi Rick,

In your simulation book, your last example in the linear mixed model section is a multilevel model problem. Could you present an example with code for a repeated measures example? Using your example with weight loss, I have recreated a simulation where the errors are correct. However, when I introduce random components, it messes up the simulation. Thus, I tried looking at the last example concerning families and heights and used the code with a repeated measures example of mine. However, again, the random effects components did not average out to the parameters I specified. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have been struggling with this simulation for weeks now.

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Repeated Measures Example

The example that you speak of is a mixed model with correlated errors. I don't have any other examples like that lying around.  I suggest that you study a good book on mixed models. There might be an example like this in

Gelman and Hill (2007),  Data Analysis using regression and multilevel/hierarchical models.  Their R codes are easily translated into IML.
