As a Colorado native, here are some of my suggestions for things to do in Denver...

1. Wynkoop Brewery - one of the original brew pubs in Denver and started by Gov. Hick, good beer, food and pool tables

2. The "Cruise Room" at the Oxford Hotel...not your typical hotel bar!

3. Denver Beer Co. - some of the funkiest beers you will find

4. The "LoDo" (lower downtown) area - next to Coors baseball stadium, lots of restaurants, brew pubs, etc.

5. For music fans, a couple of great CD & vinyl stores - "Twist & Shout" and "Wax Trax"

6. For great and authentic British style Fish & Chips, go to "GB Fish & Chips" on Broadway

7. If you have a car, Boulder, CO is only 30-40 minutes drive - main campus for the Univ. of Colorado and Pearl Street Mall

8. Longmont (Left Hand Brewery) and Fort Collins (New Belgium Brewery & CSU) are worth the visit, but longer drive - 1+ hour

9. There are a number of smaller music venues in and around downtown Denver as well.

10. Pick up a copy of the free Westword newspaper for all the latest happenings, best restaurants, concerts, etc.  Here's the link to the digital version:  http://www.westword.com/about/flipbooks

@Ron_Cody She's got to do something to stay occupied at these things, right? Only so many times she can hear about the SAS functions that we don't use enough... Smiley Very Happy

I don't think this one has been mentioned yet...for those interested in weather you can visit the NOAA Boulder labs

There are some pretty great hiking trails there that have great views overlooking Boulder as well.

Have also never been to Denver before - first time will be attending this conference. Have had the Buckhorn Exchange steakhouse recommended by multiple people. Have also had Wynkoop Brewery recommended and Sam's No. 3 recommended for breakfast.

Am told most of the scenic car routes really worth driving through at Rocky Mountain National Park are still closed (off season). Thought about renting a car but conference hotel is $35/night for overnight parking. Might rent for half a day to go out to Red Rocks if I have time...

We're doing a 4-hour "Rockies Foothills" bus tour on Sunday morning which includes Red Rocks Ampitheatre. (And going to the baseball at Coors Field afterwards).

Once Forum is over Wednesday, we're getting a car & heading up to Estes Park for a few days - yes, the high roads are likely to be closed, but still hope to get a good look around and do some hiking.

This is the tour we're doing Sunday morning - they have availability after forum, but it's only at 9am.

But I'm sure there are others. Suggest look for any tour which includes Red Rocks Ampitheater.

Thanks Andrew! If only I was thinking ahead and flew in Saturday instead of Sunday. 🙂
