I arrive Thursday evening, so looking for suggestions of things to do in/around Orlando Friday & Saturday.

DisneyWorld isn't a major priority for me, although Cape Kennedy is a possibility.

Also, would people recommend staying the nights preceding Forum out next the resort, or in town, Downtown maybe?

Hi Andrew,

Kennedy Space Center is definitely worth the trip. There are plenty of bus tours or you can rent a car for about $50/day.

I've also heard the tours at Daytona International Speedway are quite good if you are into that kind of thing. They have a tram that takes you around the track.

The La Nouba Cirque Du Soleil show in Downtown Disney is also very good.

I 2nd the Kennedy Space Center - we were there a few weeks ago and it was really cool.  Warning - you could spend the whole day as there is a bus tour that is included with attendance that is 2hrs+ long and they drive you out to some of the launching pads.  The last one is at 3pm - so you'll need to get there early.  Earlier is where everything is happening as later in the day (after 2:30pm stuff is dying down and no more activities).  They had stuff like meeting with astronaunt, signing autographs, different small sessions - it was really cute.  Will warn it's hot, so wear comfortable lightweight clothes!
