Some of you may have stumbled across the SAS Global Forum 2017 app in your device's app store. The email to all registered attendees with the event password will be blasted on Monday, 3/6 and includes instructions for logging in.

The mobile app will be your go-to for all conference information including the latest agenda and sessions. Also in the app you will find conference maps, presenters, sponsor info, details about training and certification while at SASGF, and so much more.

Looking to network with other attendees? This app is for that. Click on the Attendee Networking icon and opt-in to networking. There you will find others who have opted in and can be contacted by in-app messaging. You can even set up a meeting. And don't forget to play the app game for awesome prizes.

Hello Gail,

I am wondering, is there any update on the status for the mailing? As you mentioned, I downloaded the app, although I did not received any email that provides the password. Maybe it is just that the mailing is actually sent already?

Thank you in advance!

Best,

Juan

Hi Juan,

You should have received it Monday mid-day. Also you should be receiving other communications from SAS Global Forum Registrar (Karen Owen) with conference details. Please check your Junk Mail in case it got pushed to spam.

Email me at gail.baker@sas.com if you have not received any of these.

Thanks,

Gail

Gail,

The app is in the mail, eh? 🙂

I didn't get said email either.  I checked my SPAM folder and it only had the usual rejects in it.

I just wanted the group to know that it isn't simply one person reporting a non-delivery.

I will send you a message offline so that you can zap me a copy.

Thank you.

Best of luck in all your SAS endeavors!

The last email I got from SASglobalforumreg@sas.com was dated 17 Feb 2017. I haven't got anything since and I have checked my spam folder.

First off I got the email on Monday.

Second I recommend the App.

Although I may have already won the app game 27 days before the conference the app game is fun and during the conference I am going to put some photos on the activity feed for sure. As a government employee I can't really win the physical prizes anyways. SAS Press books are okay to win, because I can donate them to our work library. I mention that because in Dallas I used the app to find other national statistics offices' employees from Estonia and arranged a meet up. BTW they do statistics very differently there in Estonia, than we do in Canada. Last year, I tried using the app to search out university researchers with some success. Also if you are volunteering, as I do each year, the app helps me locate talk and session info and that is probably the best function the agenda builder. In Dallas, I also downloaded papers inside the app and read along as the presenter presented. Lots of good stuff in that app.

Hello all,

Thanks for the notes. Sorry some of you did not receive the email. The email was sent from the registration system and should have been sent to the email with which you registered for the Users Program. For some of you, it may be because you are registered for the Executive Program. The Executive Program content is not complete in the app just yet so that email wtih details has not blasted yet.

I am including the login details here. Please remember the app is accessible for REGISTERED ATTENDEES ONLY. This process verifies registration before giving a verification code.

Step 1:   Download the app by searching for SAS® Global Forum 2017 in your device's app store. (for iOS and Android) If you have blackberry or Windows phone, you can access the online version at https://event.crowdcompass.com/sas-globalforum2017.

Step 2:   Tap on SAS® Global Forum 2017 and enter the event password SASGF17.

Step 3:   Tap on the 3 three lines at the top left corner and “Log in for more features”.

Step 4:   Enter your first and last name. Access your email for the four-digit verification code. If you aren't registered you will not receive this code.

Good luck! See you in the app. 🙂

To prepare my conference agenda, I like to work between the mobile app and my laptop browser.  I also use the PDFs of the daily schedule too!

Is the app's four digit verification code a one-time event or do you have to do it everytime you access the differing methods?  For me, it seems to be the latter.  Man Mad

TIA,

So far that has been my experience also.  Each time the code changes so you have to attempt to enter, get excluded, wait for an email with the new code, use the new code to log on a second time.

Unfortunately the online version does not seem to offer much of an advantage this year.

Yes, I've found this frustrating as well (too many home/work devices!), so hopefully there's a simple workaround someone can share.
