By enclosing my PROCs in the following code:

ODS RTF FILE=......;

ODS GRAPHICS ON;

sas procs;

ODS GRAPHICS OFF;

ODS RTF CLOSE;

I get a nice RTF file with ods graphics embedded inside.  What I also get and what I do not want is generated png/sge files in the working directory.  What's more is that these files are not replaced so new files just keep coming with every submission.  Since the gpath= option does not work with the RTF destination, I have no control over these files.  The result is I have to delete these files manually after every run if I want my SAS program directory clean.  Is there any solution to turn off the generation of the PNG/SGE files when using RTF?

Just do:

ods listing close;

before you run your job. The PNG/SGE file are being generated because this destination is open by default.

Hope this helps,

Dan
