Dear,

I am recently used the proc sgplot and found there is a ELLIPSE statement could be used after the scatter plot, after I read the documentation, I still felt confused about the rationale and function of the ELLIPSE. Could anyone help me on this?

Thanks in advance.

A ellipse is a graphical representation of the area in which a new obs would be expected to appear (at a given probability level, based on the x and y values in your data).

Dear Fugue,

Really appreciated for your help. Could I understand your words as this is a prediction plot at a given significance level based on the given x & y data?

That would be correct!
