PROC SHEWHART

I am issues with the 9.4 version of PROC SHEWHART, PCHART. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I noticed the color options (e.g. CVREF, CCONNECT, CLIMITS) no longer appear to work.  Has anyone had success using these commands?
  2. When the block variable legend prints it does not provide a count for the last number on my x-axis. I can remedy this by increasing the maximum value on the x-axis but then the maximum value on my plot has no associated data point and the line segment does not go to the end of my graph (the figure looks pretty bad). Does anyone know of another solutions?
  3. Can I get rid of the vertical reference lines on my figure?

You must have recently upgraded from an earlier verion of SAS. As mentioned in this thread, PROC SHEWHART and many other SAS procedures were upgraded to use ODS graphics in SAS 9.3.  Also in SAS 9.3, ODS GRAPHICS are turned ON by default.

The easiest thing for you to do is to put

ODS GRAPHICS OFF;

before your PROC SHEWHART call. then everything should work as before.

However, I encourage you to try some of the new ODS graphics features. See the SAS/QC documentation, which now lists options for traditional graphics in a separate section from options for ODS graphics.
