GLT: Layout datapanel Y axis tick value label control.

I'm making dot plots grouped with LAYOUT DATAPANEL.

My Y axis tick labels are very long and I don't see how to "flow" them or otherwise make them take less room.  I don't really want to use a tiny font size.  As it is they are taking too much away from my X axis space on the page.

I am happy to use some other method to label the ticks but I don't know what I should use.

I using SAS 9.2.

I'll keep looking in the documentation and other sources. Smiley Happy

If you are not using a GROUP variable, one alternative is the following:

1. Assign the Y variable to both the Y and the GROUP.

2. Turn off the tick value labels using the DISPLAY option on the ROWAXISOPTS

3. Create a DISCRETELEGEND and assign the scatter plot to it.

The end result is that your axis values will appear in the legend next to the appropriate scatter symbol and your plot will reclaim the horizontal space. In SAS 9.3, there is an AXISLEGEND that will let you do something similar without having to use a GROUP variable.

Hope this helps!
